[Hansel] Hansel's new pet.

Gretel fed her bird like she did every morning. As the bird nuzzled up against her cheek, her thoughts drifted towards her brother and the mouse he'd tried to keep. He'd always gotten along so well with everyone that the idea that he might be lonely too had never really crossed her mind. She hated to see him unhappy, and she certainly didn't wish to be the cause of it. He was her precious brother, and she would do anything to make him smile.

She went to her dresser drawer and pulled out a large collar and leash. It was a bright thing. The leash itself was a line of colored stones and the matching collar was painted with a rainbow. She'd thought it was beautiful when she'd first seen it, but it had been so embarrassingly unlike her usual muted tones that she'd walked past. Still, she kept passing by the store until eventually, without even thinking, she'd bought it. She looked at the item in her hands, her face turning a slight shade of red. She didn't even have a dog or anything that would use a collar like this, but she had an idea for it now. She shook the head reclaiming the color from her cheeks and set off for her brother.

"Hansel." She called to him when she found him. She waved the collar in her hand. "I think it's time we got you a pet. Not a mouse, though." She paused a wicked smile spreading across her face. "Perhaps a useless lion?"

Hansel looked up from the pot of caramel he'd been watching, offering his sister a completely bewildered expression. "A lion? Where would we get... a..." His eyebrow quirked up in amusement as he realized what she was talking about. "Oh. A lion. I see."

He turned off the burner and moved the caramel to a cold spot on the stove so it wouldn't burn. "Do tell me, sister. How exactly do you plan on acquiring me a lion for a pet?"

"We catch him in a trap! The poor thing has just been running around wild; it needs to be tamed... and groomed." A wicked smile spread across Gretel's face. Harassing the Oz family was her third favorite thing to do, right after attacking the Anderson family and eating sweets. She always thought Caramia looked sloppy so fixing his hair and putting a cute collar on him seemed like great fun.

"How do you catch a lion, though? A net isn't going to be good enough with his sharp claws right? If we use a rope, we'll have to take that into account, and his teeth. We can set up some sort or trap and lure him into it but It would probably be easier if we set it up in their territory. Since getting him into the plaza on a weekday will be hard. And that doesn't give us a lot of time to set up." She paused for a moment. She had the bare bones of an idea here, but Hansel was pretty good at helping her flesh out things. He always had good ideas for capers.

"So what do you think? Any brilliant plans coming about in that head of yours?"
